2022(24th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition
The 24th China Mining Conference and Exhibition in 2022 attracted enterprises and representatives from 21 countries and regions to participate online. The opening ceremony featured video speeches by Wang Guanghua, Minister of Natural Resources; Zhang Gong, Mayor of Tianjin; and Niu Wantao, Argentina’s Ambassador to China. Attendees included Li Jinfa, Director of the China Geological Survey; Peng Qiming, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of China Mining Conference and Exhibition and President of the China Mining Association; as well as ambassadors from South Africa, Serbia, Argentina, Zambia, Namibia, Peru, Tanzania, Uruguay, Mongolia, Sudan, and Mozambique, who joined on line. The opening ceremony was conducted via videoconference, with 40 online branches organized by relevant mining industry associations, centrally administered enterprises, provincial natural resources departments, and provincial mining associations (federations or societies). With the theme “Sustainable Mining for Sustainable Economic Growth”, the conference addressed strategic mineral supply-demand dynamics and innovative mining development concepts under the “dual-carbon” target. It featured a theme forum, 8 thematic forums, and 2 special promotion sessions, where 69 experts and scholars from enterprises, finance, legal sectors, research institutions (including universities), and countries such as China, the UK, Australia, and Sweden shared insights on topics like the mining capital market, overseas investment, corporate social responsibility, and scientific innovation. The exhibition included 242 exhibitors showcasing mining technology equipment, metallurgy, projects, geological surveys, exploration, and financial and third-party services. Additionally, a total of 13 countries have set up their national pavilions on the cloud platform, covering 4 continents, including Asia, Africa, South America and Europe, with a total of 54 videos uploaded, 33 project introduction documents, and nearly 200 mining projects on display.
