The 18th China Mining Conference and Exhibition in 2016 brought together over 10,000 government officials, mining professionals, experts, and scholars from 53 countries and regions in Tianjin, including more than 850 international delegates. Attendees included 15 mining ministers or vice ministers from 12 countries and regions, 5 ambassadors to China, 7 directors or deputy directors of organizations, such as the Geological Survey, the BRICS New Development Bank, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and other international bodies, along with representatives from over 1,200 domestic and foreign mining enterprises, financial institutions, consulting firms, scientific research institutes, industry associations, and societies. The conference featured the following events: a theme Forum, International Mining Ministers’ Forum, High-Level Forum on Mining Development, China-Africa Mining Investment Partnership Forum, International Geological Survey Directors’ Forum, 25 thematic sub-forums, 17 promotional seminars (including 11 project promotion seminars for countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”). These sessions focused on enhancing project promotion, negotiation, and cooperation between China and African nations, as well as countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative. The conference was praised for its rich content, high participant engagement, and dynamic interactions.
