More than 8,000 government officials, mining industry professionals, experts and scholars from 53 countries and regions attended the 16th China Mining Conference and Exhibition in 2014. Among them, over 1,000 foreign delegates attended the conference, including 22 mining ministers or vice ministers from 19 countries and regions, such as Canada, South Africa, Russia, Sudan, Guyana, Mali, Zimbabwe, Poland, Peru, Mexico, Tajikistan, Argentina, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Chad, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, and Chile, and 11 ambassadors or ministerial representatives based in China. Domestically, more than 7,000 delegates from 31 provinces, municipalities, and the Armed Police Gold Brigade joined the event. The conference featured 3 theme forums, 22 sub-forums, and 10 national (regional) project promotion meetings. The ministers and vice ministers of mining from 10 countries delivered speeches at the International Mining Ministers' Forum of the conference, introducing the overview of their respective countries’ mineral resources and their intention of foreign cooperation, which garnered widespread attention from attendees.
